Preparation

How to prepare Air-fryer cloud bread

To prepare the air-fryer cloud bread, pour the egg whites into a large bowl 1 and start beating them with an electric mixer 2. You don't need to beat them completely, just until they begin to look white and frothy 3.

At this point, add the granulated sugar 4 and continue working the mixture until you obtain a stable, well-whipped mass 6. Turn off the mixer and add the cornstarch 6.

Gently incorporate it with a whisk 7, using folding motions from the bottom upward so as not to deflate the egg whites 8. Add the chocolate chips as well 9.

Mix a little more for a few seconds 10, just long enough to distribute them evenly through the mixture 11. Line the air-fryer basket with a sheet of parchment paper. Scoop 3 heaping tablespoons of batter and place them on the parchment. Use a spatula to shape the mixture 12.

You should obtain a dome shape, smoothing the surface without pressing it down too much 13. Cook the cloud bread in the air fryer at 311°F for 15 minutes. At the end of cooking, carefully remove them from the basket 14 and continue cooking the others; with these quantities you'll get 3. Once ready, let them cool and serve 15.

Storage

Store the cloud bread at room temperature, well covered, and best consumed the same day. Freezing is not recommended.

Tip

Use room-temperature egg whites: they will whip more easily with an electric mixer and yield a voluminous, stable mixture.
