PRESENTATION

This Greek yogurt cake is something you’ll find on tables all over Greece. And look, it’s known for being super moist and incredibly tender. The secret? It’s the Greek yogurt. Really. It gives the cake a super soft bite and that main moist texture everyone loves. I mean, people really rave about how simple this yogurt cake recipe is—pretty much no fuss, no long list of ingredients. You just get that honest, homey flavor, which is great for breakfast or even as a little after-dinner treat. Some keep it classic with a sprinkle of powdered sugar—super tasty—while others add fresh fruit or a spoonful of jam for a sweet twist. The cake has a mellow flavor, you know, never too heavy, and always with that nice moist crumb, thanks to the yogurt. Unlike other Greek cakes, like those super sweet syrup-soaked ones, this moist yogurt cake is much lighter. But still, it feels like comfort food. You get it.

Sometimes people add a splash of citrus, turning it into a tasty lemon yogurt cake, or drizzle a bit of olive oil to make it richer. Seriously good. And the best part? No matter how you tweak it, this easy yogurt cake always comes out soft and golden. It’s a real go-to for those who want something quick yet special. You can enjoy it any time of day. I gotta say, some even grab a slice as a snack. And look, for a healthier option, there’s the healthy yogurt cake version, which skips a lot of the extra sugar but keeps all the moist texture. However you slice it, this cake stays true to its roots as a Greek that’s all about simple ingredients, easy prep, and that tender, comforting bite people remember long after it’s gone. Whether you’re new to baking or a seasoned pro, this cake is a must-try for anyone who appreciates a delicious and easy-to-make treat.

To prepare the Greek yogurt cake, start by pouring the whole eggs into a large bowl 1. Add the sugar 2 and beat the eggs and sugar with an electric mixer 3.

When it becomes fluffy, light, and frothy 4, add the Greek yogurt 5 and mix it into the batter with the mixer 6.

Next, add a pinch of salt 7, vanilla extract 8, and oil 9.

Continuing to work the batter with the electric mixer 10, add the flour, making sure to sift it and pour it in little by little 11, then mix again 12 until the batter is creamy, smooth, and uniform.

Now you just need to add the baking powder 13, always sifting it with a sieve, and mix one last time 14 until you get the right consistency 15.

Then pour the batter into a 20 cm diameter pan, previously lined with parchment paper 16. Bake in a preheated static oven at 356°F for 40 minutes on the middle shelf. Times may vary slightly depending on the oven, always do the toothpick test 17. Once ready, allow the Greek yogurt cake to cool 18.

Unmold your Greek yogurt cake onto a plate 19, decorate it with powdered sugar 20, and enjoy it 21!
