PRESENTATION

From the beautiful Campania region in southern Italy comes the savory 7-pot cake—which is awesome—an easy and original spin on the much-loved sweet yogurt cake that's really popular in Italian homes. This version flips the traditional dessert flavors by packing in bits of Naples salami, little cubes of Edam cheese, and plenty of green olives, all tied together with a hint of fresh marjoram. And the coolest part? Everything’s measured with a single yogurt cup. No scales, no stress. Just scoop, mix and go.

This makes the savory seven jars cake a hit for anyone who loves recipes that keep things simple yet deliver that moist and golden bite in every slice. Italian families really adore how quickly this cake comes together. Perfect for last-minute gatherings or lazy Sunday meals when you crave something different from the usual appetizers. Pretty simple, right? It comes with a nice tender texture, and each piece has a crispy edge from baking—so it’s hard not to grab another slice when you pass by the tray.

Trying out the savory seven cups cake is all part of the fun. I gotta say, some folks in Campania swap the meats for more veggies, turning it into a tasty savory vegetable cake that works for vegetarians too. You’ll see people mixing in delights like roasted zucchini, peppers, or even sun-dried tomatoes, but the base always remains super easy and moist thanks to the yogurt. And here's the thing: what’s great is how this cake stands up as a quick savory cake you can prep ahead—whether it’s for a picnic, school lunch, or party.

It is not just about tradition. This recipe’s totally budget-friendly and lets you use whatever’s hanging out in your fridge. For real. From that cheesy flavor to the salty kick from the olives and the herby aroma, there’s something in every bite that just feels warm and inviting. No matter how you fill it, this savory yogurt cake keeps things simple, fun and totally crowd-pleasing, just like a real Italian family would want.
