PRESENTATION

Ace cake is, to be honest, a much-loved Italian treat, the kind you find in the world of classic breakfast and snack foods. And you know what? It takes a cue from Italy's famous ACE fruit juice. Really, really tasty. This cake mixes the zesty flavors of orange, lemon and carrot, giving it a taste that's both refreshing and a bit sweet. No butter here, which is great, because that makes it soft, airy, and lighter than your usual sponge. Seriously good stuff. Many Italian families like to enjoy a slice in the morning or during a chill afternoon break, soaking up the vitamin-packed goodness that’s a nod to the original ACE drink.

The ace cake meaning? It’s all about crafting something simple and wholesome—showing off a bit of everyday Italian creativity. Plus, and here's the thing, the nickname asexuality cake has caught on. It's become a part of broader chats about ace representation and identity symbols, even if the cake itself started as just a delicious, healthy snack.

Throughout Italy, folks sometimes switch up the flavors with peach or apricot, letting everyone put their own spin on this tasty cake. For real, that's what keeps ace cake interesting—no two families make it exactly the same. The moist crumb, tender bite, and slightly tangy finish make you wanna go back for seconds. Some even call it an asexual pride cake, especially when decorated with colors from the ace flag cake or served at events celebrating the asexual community. It is a cool, super super interesting way to mix Italian culinary traditions with modern ideas about asexuality symbols and identity. Whether it's for breakfast, a school snack, or a party, ace cake is loved for being easygoing, light and full of fruity flavor. Ultimately, it's a simple recipe that really holds significant meaning for so many, both in Italy and wherever someone’s craving a bright, homemade treat.

How to prepare ACE Cake

To make the ACE cake, first grate the lemon and orange zest, being careful not to take the white part 1. Squeeze and strain the juice from both the lemon and the orange 2; you will need 145 g in total. Finally, peel the carrots and grate them with a fine grater 3.

Start whisking the eggs with the sugar in a large bowl 4. Add the grated citrus zest 5 and continue to mix with the electric whisk until the mixture becomes light and fluffy, then gradually add the flour 6.

Add the baking powder 7, then slowly pour in the citrus juice 8 and the vegetable oil 9.

Finally, add the grated carrots 10 and mix for a few more minutes to obtain a homogeneous mixture 11. Pour the batter into a 9-inch diameter bundt pan 12 and bake in a preheated static oven at 356°F for about 55 minutes.

After this time, check the cooking with a toothpick, then remove from the oven and let it cool 13. Turn out the bundt cake and dust with powdered sugar to taste 14. Your ACE cake is ready to be enjoyed 15!

Storage

The ACE cake can be stored at room temperature for 2-3 days, under a glass dome. You can freeze it after baking, possibly already sliced.

Tip

If you wish, you can decorate the ACE cake with a glaze like the one we made for the bundt cake! Enrich the batter with some nuts for a crunchy note.
